A daring rum with an even daring name! Caniba Oak Aged Rum is a smooth marriage of the very best barrel aged rums from Trinidad. This multi-layered Caribbean rum has a rich aroma due to the slow distillation and unique filtration process. This combination results in a rich and spicy rum with subtle notes of cacao. This vigorous spiced rum deserves a daring name straight from the heart of the Caribbean, and that's exactly what he got... The name Caniba comes from the indigenous people of the Caribbean, who Columbus named Caniba. In those times ferocious Caribbeans lived in the Caribbean, looters who raided unsuspecting villages, kidnapped the women and ate the men. Columbus wrongly described these tribes in his reports as 'Caniba', as he believed they were subjects of the the Asian Great Khan. A few decades later, his Spanish successors corrected the name into 'Caribbeans'. Whether these looters were actually cannibals remains a question until now, however that they were ferocious and violent is a fact. Canibu rum: The pride of the Caribbean!
